There is a new hot female game character coming to the XBOX and PS3! Her name is Rubi Malone, and she the main character in the new game WET.

Check out this info about the game:

Wet is an upcoming video game, developed by A2M and published by Sierra Entertainment for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. The game is an action game starring a female heroine named Rubi. Although recently announced the game has already been compared to the Tomb Raider series, due in part to Rubi's similarities to Lara Croft as well as the sexy vampire BloodRayne. -Wikipedia

Rubi is as agile as Lara Croft and the prince in the Prince of Persia games. She can pretty much negotiate any environment by climbing, ledge-running, wall-running, leaping, and more. At the same time, she has numerous ways of taking down opponents. She can run into a room, slide, and target two opponents simultaneously with the guns in her hands. Or she can get up close and use her sword to dispatch them, which also has the possibility of letting you use a special kill move.

Wet is about the adventures of Rubi, a sexy, fearless "problem solver" who lives in the middle of an airline junkyard in the desert. She'll take any type of job as long as she likes it and the price is right. These jobs can range from stealing something, protecting someone, assassination, smash-and-grab, and more. The way she solves problems is pretty violent, given that she's skilled in acrobatics, gunplay, and swordplay, and Wet is designed so you can go effortlessly from one to another in a heartbeat.

It isn't just the combat that makes Rubi special. It's also the game's sense of style. The visual approach of the game seems to be in the vein of directors like Quentin Tarantino, Guy Ritchie, and Joe Carnahan. Not surprisingly, the audio direction also seems to borrow a lot from those moviemakers. Wet will have a soundtrack that wouldn't seem out of place in a Tarantino movie, and while details are yet to come, we're told that one inspiration for the soundtrack is the way the song "Stuck in the Middle" became almost synonymous with the ear scene in the movie Reservoir Dogs.

Developer Artificial Mind and Movement (A2M) out of Montreal is working on the game, and the team boasts a pretty impressive number of veterans from Ubisoft Montreal, arguably one of the top game-design studios in the business. We're told that there are a number of developers who were leads on the Splinter Cell, Assassin's Creed, and Prince of Persia games. Meanwhile, Sierra turned to Hollywood writer Duppy Demetrius for the script. Demetrius is a long-time veteran of the hit television show 24, so we wonder if that means we'll see plenty of spectacular betrayals and double-crosses in the game.

Activision Blizzard announced on July 29, 2008 that WET has been dropped, thus putting its future into hiatus. Though according to A2M, WET has come so far along in development the project will not be canceled completely.[1] According to the Technical Director of the game, a release in 2009 is expected.

It has been a while since we've heard from Wet, the stylish third-person shooter from the folks over at A2M. In fact, last we saw it was back in 2007. Things went dark after it got dropped from Vivendi's portfolio following the merger with Activision. Now, thanks to the publishing duties being picked up by Bethesda, Wet is once again ready to start grabbing headlines with its acrobatic combat.

Voice actors: Eliza Dushku as Rubi

Wet won't have any multiplayer options, but there will be unlockable modes in the game, which include Rubi's Home, located in an airport graveyard where players can put Rubi through her paces in time trials and a point count mode, where Rubi can revisit levels and try to beat certain scores. Bonus: locate toy monkeys hidden around the game for extra achievements/trophies.

Page 1
- The knee slide doesn't need an acrobatic platform to launch from and soon became one of our favourite moves, especially with the sword at hand.

Page 2
- As with Stranglehold, the Japanese influence is obvious throughout, in terms of both visual style and over-the-top action. You get to slide down this dragon's back at one point aswell.

- The camera edges in for the slow-motion cinematic sequences but you never leave the gameplay camera unless you use the Unleash combo.

Page 3
- Wet plays on a 'spherical targeting' field, so you can turn your upper body in any direction whilst you're moving in another. All that crazy stuff you see in the thrailers you can do in the game.

- The left arm is on auto-lock - so you're guaranteed a hit - but it will take the skill with your other hand to plant a headshot or shoot something around them.

Page 5
- There's no let up in the action - and so you'll never slide down a ladder legs first.

- Every wall acts as a springboard for Rubi's athletic prowess - all motion-captured using a stuntwoman aswell.

Page 6
- After years trapped with licensed family titles you can excuse A2M for not holding back with the early concept ideas for Wet.

Page 8
- This wierd looking fella is known as The Torturer, and judging by our understanding of the story you'll get to meet him pretty early on.

- It doesn't sound like much but there's a great deal of fun to be had shooting infinate henchmen whilst swinging round and round an overhead pipe with one hand.

- A2M may not have much to say about the surrounding characters but it did supply us with this nice shot of 'Tarantula & Kollektor' looking far from your classic Triad cliche.

What do you think? Is this Rubi girl a threat to Lara or not? Post your opinions and other info about this game here! Very Happy

Nice thread. Thumbs up

The game seems cool and I don't think she can't replace our beloved Lara. Hug
